Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4: 7-11
Happy Valentine’s, all! I won’t have time for a full-blown article today, but suffice it to say that you are in my thoughts and, more importantly, my prayers. (Too many things are in my thoughts, but my prayers are much more productive than my thoughts anyway… 😉 )
Just thinking about the millions of caregivers out there celebrating with (and around) their loved ones with dementia. Loneliness and pre-grief are never more strong than when everyone else is celebrating. Just know that you are important, you matter, and I appreciate each one of you. AND, for those who have lost someone recently…and I know many…I am truly sorry.
Nothing much to say right now with mom or the last couple of the Sweet 17 living near her. Mom is still eating, seems pain-free, and disinterested in most anything. She seems to sleep 21-23 hours per day, which is amazing. I hope she is dreaming about the joys of times gone by and what lies ahead. With no reference points and many broken pathways, I am not sure what her dreams look like, if anything, but she is in peace and that is good enough for me. I am only going to get to see her a time or two this week due to many, many things scheduled, but next week will be better by far.
If you are coming to the Zoom support group tomorrow at 5pm CST, I will see you then. A truly happy and joy-filled Valentine’s to all.
