Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long.
Mom and Pam recorded a few more musical blessings this week. Mom struggles spiritually some days wondering why she is where she is…and where she is to begin with…but she presses on. She became a Christian relatively late in life even though she went to church a lot and had pastors for grandparents. She struggles with sadness many days as any of us would, partially because she hates to be a burden. I tell her every visit how much of a blessing she is to me and to the Sweet 17 and the nurses. Her music is her ministry at this point, and it ministers to everyone she sees. She still has a divinely loved purpose of being with us and I thank my Savior for the good times and the bad.
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine……Mom’s blessed assurance of heaven IS her foretaste of glory divine until heaven actually comes. Does her or my faith in Christ make Alzheimer’s easy? Nope. It does, however, give us hope to a time without Alzheimer’s and it gives us a song.
