Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. -Psalm 105:2
Hi all! I was just working on a video for my job and noticed a bunch of my YouTube videos of mom playing the piano and hanging out from the last 3-4 years. I stopped recording that way because she has gotten to the point that I feel like I am dishonoring her, but these are special and she would be happy having them shown. Some are embedded and some are just links, but they SHOULD be able to keep playing… Here ya go 🙂

This is us a week before she was placed:

This was about 3.5 years ago. Her speech was up and down. We communicated well, regardless. I was kind of the word salad Whisperer. 😉
I liked is one 🙂
Mom’s favorite thing to say about technology: “The only thing I know for sure about Computers is that the word starts with a K”

Kind of a song and a word mashup… This shows how the brain derails in dementia. She was tracking well, then all pathways got jumbled like dropping a puzzle off the table. Still pretty 🙂
Grainy video, but you can tell that she is quite the Entertainer. 🙂

One Day at a Time is right… She had such a pretty voice. 🙂
Another grainy one 🙁 Still precious
Very early in her stay at the nursing home. Precious. 🙂

Thanksgiving 🙂 So sweet!
If Dementia was a vine…this is mid-stage

One brief meeting during Covid except when they let us in to say “Goodbyes” that wasn’t GoodBye… You can certainly hear the Aphasia….and that she still loved us and her fidget blanket. 🙂
(LINK) Not thrilled with the questions and requests, but this was still cute.
(LINK) I could talk her back from unhappiness quite well, thank you. 🙂
(Link) My opinion of dementia in a nutshell…

Really cute. When speech goes out of whack, you work with what you have and empathize. I repeated a few things she said here to help her see that I was trying.
Of course, this is a favorite…I show it all the time 🙂

(Link) She wasn’t a fan of beards or mustaches. 🙂
(LINK) 75th Birthday…her singing was better than ours. 🙂
(LINK) Funny 🙂
(LINK) Not very often that my weird sense of humor helps me…but here was another time. 🙂
(LINK) I hated it when she started to struggle to play, but she still loved it 🙂 and so did we. 🙂 (My brother and sister-in-law here with their late pooch. 🙂
(LINK) Old Rugged Cross. 🙂
(LINK) Cute, but short
(LINK) One Day at a Time again 🙂 Watch to the end and tell me music wasn’t her happy place 🙂
(LINK) He Touched Me. Pretty. 🙂
(LINK) Playing whatever…and filming on the side too
(LINK)
(LINK) She always has had a great sense of humor. 🙂
(LINK)
(LINK) Mom always had a choir among the Sweet 17. I think heaven will be much more like this, pitch-wise. The sound itself may not be what Beyonce would belt, but it came from the heart with no filter here…
(LINK) Several songs blended together here. 🙂
(LINK)
(LINK) Smiling away, bruises and all. She fell a lot in those days 🙁
(LINK) She would struggle with focus…or would fixate on things…but music would bring her back. Still does. 🙂
(LINK)
(LINK) Speeding past her singer 🙂

(LINK) Rollin’ with it…
(LINK) Tell me there is only sad stuff…just try to convince me. 🙂 LOL
(LINK) 🙂
(LINK) Mom’s little singer here was such a sweet lady. She is in the Garden now with her Lord…
(LINK) He head may have been cut, but her music was beautiful and her smile too…
(LINK) Goose egg and all, she loved her piano.

Thank you for watching these. YouTube is funny about embedded videos, that is why I listed the links below as well as having the actual player playing them. Mom is and has always been a fighter, but a joyous person in the fight. Thank you for helping me fight for a cure so the next generation won’t have to see this kind of thing any more. 🙂

I am still frozen in. I hope to see mom Thursday. Tomorrow is the Memory Day event at Jefferson City where we visit with our congressfolks about the topic. There is much to share and little time…
