For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. -Eph. 2:10
I am an odd duck. A really odd duck. I acknowledge it. Heck, I kind of embrace it.

How do I know I am an Odd Duck? Let me count the ways:
- I have been involved in around 50 clinical studies regarding Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
- I use nearly every vacation day for travel to and from places that do such things as have brainy folks extract cerebrospinal fluid, perform thigh biopsies, perform oodles of MRIs and getting so many PET Scans that plants grow better around me. 🙂

- Despite a significant fear of public speaking, I have been on TV dozens of times, radio several times, in public speeches many, many times, and facilitate 4 support groups (with more forthcoming).

- I am in multiple Alz. committees and I serve as the Alz. Association Ambassador to US Representative Mark Alford. I travel to Jeff City and DC yearly to advocate and fight for more $ and program options.

Do you wanna help this odd duck? 2 ways come to mind:
1. Put on some flippers and join me. Trial Match by the Alzheimer’s Association is a good place to look. Clinicaltrials.gov is another. Washington University has a great research Facebook page.
2. Donate to this fundraiser. 100 percent of it goes to the Alzheimer’s Association and much of it goes directly to research. Here is my fundraiser link: https://act.alz.org/site/TR?fr_id=17194&pg=personal&px=14575499
(Both 1&2 also works great too)
In less than 2 weeks, rain or shine, I will be waddling down the Frisco trail 37 miles each day Monday through Friday in an attempt to raise money and awareness of the 125000+ Missourians and 6-7 million Americans who have this terrible disease. I would love to hit my minimum goal of $1600 but would really flap my bill if I get to my $5280 stretch goal like we did a couple of years ago.

I know times are very hard. I certainly get it.
Please donate and share this….or I just may send you a bill. 😉 If you can’t afford it, I get it. Share this, pass my info to people…but don’t stress out. Let it roll off you like water off a duck’s back. 😉 (I am officially out of duck puns now). If anyone has questions about the event or about any aspect of dementia, please call me on my cell at 417-955-2513 any time between 7am-9pm CST. If I don’t answer, I will call you back. 🙂
Thank you much
Quack quack

Update: Nothing new. I hung out with mom for an hour before supper, but had to leave for a support group. I will be there for supper tonight. She was sleepy and has an infection on one finger, but is pretty much the same as she has been for a month or two.
