I had a nice visit with mom yesterday, I suppose. She was asleep, face-down on the table. I stayed there for 15 minutes, talking to her as she drifted in and out of Sleepdale. She then sort of got some consciousness going and stayed at a 45 degree angle and said a few things for another 30 minutes, then fell asleep on my arm. She ate 2 full meals and some snacks by then, and it was her 2nd significant nap of the day it and it was only 2 pm. This is irregular for everyone not living in the Shire.
I don’t completely know how to explain why we think so, but it may be that she got someone else’s meds. She, according to all reports, slept all night the night before. When you are there as often as we are collectively, you tend to notice such differences. My step-dad, her 24-7 caregiver and acutely aware of changes, agrees that something wasn’t right. There was a new med tech, the 1,000th in 1,000 days it seems, who was scrambling through the pictures trying to figure out Sweet 17 identities. I am hoping for all I am worth that that wasn’t it. It may just be a sleep day. There is an outside chance it is another medical condition from a vascular issue (TIA?) to a UTI.
Regardless of reason, Mom was deeply brain tired like I posted yesterday about, except for a more profound secondary reason. She works hard at every thought. 🙁
Hoping to have better visits the next two days.
