The consecutive days of happiness streak ended today at 3 for mom. 🙁 She was a nervous wreck today and spoke mostly in jumbled non-sentences today. She was gathering stuff, talking about things not happening, and being irritable. Had a huge challenge leaving too…the nurses were great in helping. I could tell the visit was going to be that way 10 seconds into the visit when she hugged abnormally long and was borderline crying.
Mom still played a nice Jingle Bells for me, then trailed off to Alzheimer’s land in her conversation as you will see below. 🙁
Included in the pictures are her wonderful friend Nelda and a picture of a blanket that John’s sweet cousin made mom.
The KY3 interview, which airs tonight on the 9/10 news, went well. KY3’s Christine Morton was very sweet and the three of us had a great conversation.
Sad day, but hoping for a new happy tomorrow.
Takeaway: Don’t let the highs get
too high and the lows get too low. Just live in the day and love them as they
are. I talked to the Sweet Wanda while mom was hiding a stash of junk asking
“We all have our good days and bad days, don’t we?”. Wanda said
quietly “We sure do. All I want to do is sleep these days! But, that is
ok.”
Cruddy disease roller coaster.
