Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. –2 Cor. 4:16-7
I don’t have anything of note today although there is a lot brewin’ for next week. Mom is still doing about the same. I visited several times this week and my stepdad ate with her daily at lunch. She is quiet and stable and, as far as I can discern from the outside looking in: pain free and “happy”. There are a few of her Sweet 17 band members milling around (with the most charitable sense of the word), but most are gone. The pandemic, and, for the most part, the isolation caused by it away from their families, took a steep toll on these warriors. This is truly a forgotten pandemic that 10 years from now only those who experienced it will remember. But we will, won’t we? 🙁
My week at work was very busy. Most are busy, but this one took the cake. Added to this I started my Master’s Degree program night class too. It is in Criminal Justice/Homeland Security with emphasis on disaster preparedness/mitigation. I will hone it down to how to prepare seniors, perhaps even ONLY those with dementia, for a disaster (beyond what the disease already delivers on a daily basis). I will post articles and assignments I complete, after they are graded, for your edification and/or bird cage lining. Thank you for your patience and grace at the short articles here and there. If you ever need help, feel free to reach out via call/text 417-955-2513 or email: mark.applegate@senioragemo.org . 🙂
I will be Runnin’ Til I’m Purple the next 3 days for sure. I need to build my durability and endurance and thick-skinnedness toot sweet. We have a major snow event seemingly visiting mid-week, so I want to bank some miles in advance of that LuLu.
Other than that, I just want to tell you to have a great weekend. May it bring you life-giving peace.

Last note: I hope to restart sending these directly to email soon. It costs quite a bit of coin and I don’t want to have my employer cover the charge. But I found a way to do it and it should begin again next week, Lord willin’.
Happy running! Thanks for update and yes, these times are hard on both loved ones and us! Sending prayers on this journey! I need to run more than I have been. God’s blessings! Tammi
Thank you Tammi. 🙂 God Bless
