In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, Lord,
make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
The Longest Day event is done, but the fight for a cure marches on!!
Today I want to announce 2 contests that conclude Monday morning (June 27th) at 9am. These prizes are open to anyone that has already donated to the Running ’til I’m Purple event fundraiser, or any new donor.
This will be 2 question-guessing games, and the winner of each gets an It’s All About Me workbook shipped to them. Here is a description of this amazing resource:
“It’s All About Me Workbook
Today is the day.
Take steps to assure your trusted family and friends know what matters to you. Our well-organized workbook guides you in recording your life events, social, health, and financial information, and what you want others to do for you when and if you need help.
Losing a loved one is often overwhelmed by the further hardship of unnecessary confusion and discord. Where are the passwords to on-line accounts? Where are important documents kept? Where are the keys to the safe? How should I distribute personal property respectfully?
This workbook helps you give the gift of all this information (and so much more we often don’t think about) in one document. This document will continue your legacy of life.”
To win, email me your guess to the following 2 questions:
1. How much weight did I lose in my 2 day, 35+ miles per day run/jog/walk/limp? Keep in mind, I did eat 3 “meals” per day and drank over 6 liters of water per day …but also remember Tuesday got to the mid- to upper 90s and Monday was no slouch on the heat.
2. How many steps did I take in the 70 + mile trek (back and forth)?
To enter, send me an email with your guesses to Mark.Applegate@senioragemo.org. Just in case, put Contest Guess or similar in the subject line. I don’t want to miss it.
Don’t post them here because someone could get sneaky and guess one more or less.
The format of the weight loss should be in pounds and tenths of a pound. (For example, 2.1 pounds…but you’ll wanna shoot higher). The steps are just the number. It was a bunch. I had to take my shoes off to count that many.
This is open to my extremely appreciated donors (with no additional donation required) and to new donors at $25 or more and it ends at 9am Monday morning. We are still a ways short of my goal, but it has been a great event nevertheless.
To read more about it, navigate to Digitalcornbread.com and see the posts and/or the Runnin Til I’m Purple tab
Thank you all!!!
Below is the GoFundMe link for donating here just in case you missed it. We are still below my goal, so I will keep the site up through the last day of June, then will switch gears and focus on the Springfield Walk to End Alzheimer’s event in September. It will be held at Jordan Valley Park again this year and gathers hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people who care about the topic. It will be epic again this year! 🙂
Or the link is in many posts at Digital Cornbread.
Thank you all sooooooooo much!!
(Small spoiler…I am considering a Climbin Til I’m Purple event for next year… details coming soon…)
