But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. –Romans 8:25\
Hi all! I am sorry for the extended break. I, unfortunately, was visited by sweet Auntie ‘Rona (19) late last week and am trying to get better. (We are super careful…the variant is a tricky little booger.) All things considered, I am doing much better. My brain, as they say, is still foggy and I sleep quite a bit, but I will be better soon. It mostly feels like a super tiring and achy flu right now. The cough, for me, has slowed down….and I am thankful. I am technically a “breakthrough” case since I got the J&J Fauci Ouchie back in March, but I certainly credit it as what God used to lighten the illness from what it could have been…and I am also super thankful for 110 pounds lost and the well over a thousand miles ran this year as helping provide a much different outcome than it would have. However, it is always in God’s hands…we plan, but He is in charge and ordains the means and the ends of everything for His glory. THat is far above my pay grade and skill set.
I will be working up a deeper discussion of Covid and dementia and I will also do a full presentation of my trip to WashU, but it has to wait. I am going back to sleep. 🙂 I will shoot to catch us all up Friday.
Mom was asleep the whole visit yesterday, according to my stepdad. No real change there…
Thank you all for your thoughts/prayers/concerns. 🙂 Keep fighting in my stead this week and I will rejoin the line very soon. 🙂

If you have questions about dementia, Covid-19, or anything else, shoot me an email at mark.applegate@senioragemo.org. I will help however I can. 🙂 One quick note: the test for Covid-19 is no longer the brain tickler. I went to Walgreen. You just rub a swab in each nostril for 15 seconds, then put it in a contaner and screw the cap on. No brain probe at all… 🙂
