Have you ever played the classic board game Stratego? It is a lifelong favorite of mine. My brother and I ruthlessly played Stratego for many of our teen years. To play, you line up numbered game pieces on a board and move toward each other in a prescribed manner similar to chess. Certain pieces defeat others based on unknown numbers that you find out when you attack. There are 2 main wildcard pieces: the bomb and the flag. Hit the bomb and you lose that piece. Hit the flag…and you WIN.
Mom had yet another good day with Pam. No falls, ate her grub, played a lot of piano. (Hours) It is a blessing that we are nearly two weeks into a better streak. Only one or two falls during this streak. Still, obviously, not a lot “better”, but her days are operating smoother and she is less anxious. Happier too. 🙂 A win…
Quick rerun topic: food mixing. I often wonder if it is possible that mom has completely forgotten what tasted good to her before? She remembers and LOVES sweet, sugary foods as do nearly all of the Sweet 17. Sugar is a necessary chemical for healthy brain functions, so her craving it may actually be her body asking for what it needs. Perhaps, somehow, in a weird way, it could be like how pregnant ladies sometimes crave eating extremely odd things like mixed foods (pickles and ice cream) or non-foods like dirt. As you can see in my pix, today’s food mix is a gut bomb for sure. Her concoction tonight was a Philadelphia cheesesteak with strawberry ice cream mixed in. Cheesecake with strawberry ice cream would be tasty, especially in the 2,000 degree temperature they keep it in the memory unit (!!). Cheesesteak, however, not so much. What a difference a few letters makes. But, since she eats every morsel and is happy and nourished, I am happy right back to bite my tongue and not watch the culinary carnage. I say, a healthier mom is a white flag win, just like the soggy white bread flag she made in the picture. Lol. #EndALZ
