Mom was the worst I have seen her so far. She was extremely frantic (redundancy intentional)…far from the Disney Princess I am used to in comparison. The nurse told me she is gathering stuff…some hers, some other ladies’…and paced all day. She shouted to me 20 times or more to take her home… or somewhere! She asked me “Would you want to live here?”. Not sure if that was sarcastic or inviting me…but no…I wouldn’t. I feel confident her anxiety medication must have been missed or she hid it. 🙁 Hence her day. Her hands were cramping, probably from lugging piles of books and stuff she is afraid of losing track of.
Mom’s screaming, swearing friend was also active…but the aide was doing her best and even had her singing “You are my Sunshine ” and a country song I couldn’t identify…but it was sweet.
Pray for Alzheimer’s ward nurses, aides and patients. These 18 lady residents are Imago Dei (Made in the image of God) and may seem to have minimal purpose to some…but they are all special. Pray for the families represented too whether they visit and are sad or don’t and feel guilty.
Hard day. Hardest yet 10 fold. #EndALZ
