Saturday is the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Springfield and the weather looks grim. I verified it with the Walk guru ninja and she said it is rain or shine! We are very excited and will walk proudly for a cure and a world without Alzheimer’s!
This week, with walk prep and all, the posts will be a little lighter duty. Coming in the next couple weeks: my 300th post this year and the year anniversary of mom being admitted to the memory unit. I also still owe you a few more science-oriented articles on the brain. There is so much to write and so little time. I would also love your input as to topics that I have yet to hit on although I have a substantial list too as well as the odd things bouncing around in my head. 🙂
Update: I had a nice, long visit with mom yesterday. She is still quite tired and not very verbal, but she is happy, though, and still smiles when I show up. She is completely oblivious to the outside world these days except Andy Griffith and M.A.S.H.. There is no more small talk. No more discussion of the weather. Just walking on Sunshine. Her friend Mrs. W., one of the original Sweet 17, is in the same boat although the tremors of her Lewy Body Dementia seems to have slowed. We need to find a cure quickly for the sake of mom, Mrs. W. and the Sweet 17 and the millions suffering. It is time we truly #EndALZ.
