Mom’s sleep patterns, compounded by anxiety and constipation, have landed her in bed for a couple days straight. Today we got her up and around for a couple hours. Her neck and back were all kerfritz from laying around so long, so Pam and I played amateur Mr. and Mrs. Miyagis and loosened up her up. We walked around with her a bit and helped her work and stretch her neck. Mini massage….yup. It is so easy for health care workers to take the easy way out and just let a sleeping mom lay…but that is bad for her. When we left, all was well and she smiled and waved.
We also visited the stunning Ash Grove nursing home. Lots of activities, experienced staff and a great environment. She has been on their waiting list for longer than her current placement and is now on top…and she isn’t in a good condition to move. 🙁
Pray for our wisdom and discernment. The folks at her current place are nice enough, but the other facility is rated much better and has lots more going for it.
Decisions, decisions. 🙁
