King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, sixty cubits high and six cubits wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon. Daniel 3:1
Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments. Ex. 34:28
Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth for forty days and forty nights, and I will wipe from the face of the earth every living creature I have made.” Gen 7:4
Hi all! I hope you have had a great week! It has been good in my world although it has been so busy I haven’t had time to sit at the table and chat at all…and today is no difference.
I just wanted to point out, perhaps again, that my mom loves numbers and I caught this bug from her. Today being 9/9/22 would have delighted mom and it does me as well. Here are just a few times I have mentioned this fact: LINK and LINK and LINK
My point, RE:Dementia, is simple: It is interesting what memories “stick” and which ones do not. Math, art, and music teachers, be aware…and please feel appreciated from this author…what you do lasts longer than most disciplines. My mom LOVES 5280. She loves her DOB which was symmetrical sort of like 5/5/33 and on 5/5/88 she turned 55…like that except not (lest identity thieves read for some reason…). She loves numbers and number games.
Someday I am going to get with a memory expert and do a series at the Cornbread table about how memories “stick”, if you will. Until I do, here is a neat video talking about a really fun and emotional Pixar movie called Inside Out.
Take a look and share your take. 🙂
Update: Nothing much new on mom. She isn’t “talking” as much the last few weeks. She eats, but slowly. Things are wrapping up, I am afraid. However, I am not “afraid” ultimately because I know to where she will go when she is gone and it will be a place with no dementia, sadness, nor tears. 🙂
