Hi friends and family! I am getting my root canal part 2 completed today and will not feel up to my chipper ole self for a piece. I will be, Lord Willin’ and the creek don’t rise, running more this weekend, potentially in the rain. I did, as previously mentioned, decide to suspend my adding 10% to each week for the next 2 weekends, but will pick back up with a 26-28 miler on the weekend that includes May 21-22. I will have 4 weekends after that to prepare, so they will be important. I will also be running a lot during the week… In short, I am Runnin’ Til I’m Purple on a slightly new schedule, but I will somehow be ready for the 37.5 miles of joy on June 19th :).
Update: I had a nice visit with mom yesterday. 15 minutes flies by so fast, it is hardly a visit, but it beats zero minutes I suppose. They told me that next week is Nursing Home Week, and visits will NOT be allowed while they celebrate. I have a better idea…open up and let us celebrate with and at you? Frustrating…
In the meantime, have a great, life-giving weekend. To all of the mommas out there, I salute you! You make a bigger difference than kings, presidents, sporting figures and the like just by being you. May God richly bless you and your work. 🙂

That visitation schedule is so not right! Can you move her somewhere else where they will allow you to be with her more?
Nursing homes have forgotten that those people belong to us, not them!
She is so unwell that I feel like the window to have moved her passed quite a while ago. We have considered it several times. We are hoping they open within the month. There are practically no COVID-19 cases around and the residents have all been vaccinated. Much of the staff, though, are not.
