Thank you for your patience in my 2-day respite to celebrate Mother’s Day and my 250,000 hour anniversary Saturday. Both went great! 🙂
Me and my siblings met with mom for a nice visit Saturday instead of facing the rare visitor rush of a Sunday visit. It was a little selfish, but going on Saturday instead guaranteed us of few visitors and gave us a better chance of a good visit because the lack of disruptions led to being on routine. Mom was less anxious and was quite happy to see us all. 🙂
Keep in mind as you celebrate holidays: the disease is not only not taking the holiday off, it may actually be worse since routines are off kilter. Entering with prudent expectations and with the idea that you are celebrating Mom/Dad 2.0 helps. I would love to reminisce with mom about the good ole days, but I will be quite happy settling with a few funny raspberries, some piano playing and a squeeze or two in its place. 🙂
Update: Roller Coaster weekend. We caught the kiddie coaster Saturday. Friday she finally got up and walked around for the first time in close to a month! 🙂 Great news, right?!?! Then she fell and whacked her temple and her knee. It is never easy when routines get messed up and when the patient is changing health-wise as it seems mom is.
For now I will leave you with a picture and video (non-published YouTube) journal of the weekend with a couple pix of me and my bride’s 250,000 fun included. All things considered, it was a nice weekend!
